SNAKE PRINT BOOTS AW16

Everyone needs a pair of boots that can jazz up any outfit. That pair that you can pull out year after year to wear with whatever you please for maximum fashion points! Well this for me is my snake print boots. I got them last year in TKMaxx, last ones left in my size so always makes you feel special. They have a mid heel on them so perfect for days running around after my daughter, but look just as good dressed up.

My Style
TKMaxx (old)

It's always a good idea to invest well in something you're hoping;
1. You'll get a lot of wear out of
2. You'll pull out year after year
But at the same time if you find the perfect pair, 'perfect' meaning; comfortable, wearable day and night and a fab design and they're not expensive then always go for it and hope for the best. You might have just saved the money for that knit or coat that you've been after, win win situation. On the other hand these Isabel Marant boots (below) are very very nice.....

Danae Sane-Effect Leather Chelsea Boots
£485.00

Back in the real world for most of us though these ones from Mango (below) are pretty fabulous too. I love the burnt orange colouring of them, and again they have an everyday heel on them, so perfect for dressing am to pm.

Snake-effect ankle boots  Mango  £39.99

Studio Print High Heel Leather Boots (Knee High)  Zara  £179.00
Snake Print Heeled Ankle Boots  Office @ ASOS  £75.00
Snake-effect ankle boots (white)  Mango  £39.99

Margarita Snake Print Ankle Boots  Topshop  £79.00
Stone Snake Print Patent Block Heel Boots  New Look  £29.99
Rachelle Heeled Ankle Boots  ASOS  £28.50 (was £38.00)
Max Snake Sock Boots  Topshop  £89.00

You really can wear snake print with everything, I love wearing mine with denim and knits this time of year. If you want to dress it up a bit try an all black outfit with a camel coat. Or if you want to go one better mix and match your prints with stripes and autumn floral prints.

RUFFLES AND FRILLS

Tis the season of knitwear and this year its all about stepping out of the box and reinventing what we already know. What could be better than a bit of a frill, it doesn't have to mean going girly, especially not when it comes to knitwear. Be it chunky and cosy or sleek and slim, dressed up or dressed down, you can always stand out from the crowd with a little extra flounce.
Gucci Fall 2016 RTW

If like me you can't get enough of Gucci at the moment then frills will be right up your street. They were all over the catwalk and the high street has done us proud. This pink ASOS jumper (below) is a fab tribute to the Gucci sweater above. I would love to see it paired with an all black outfit to really make it stand out. Or if you want to really go all out with the Gucci vibes, style with a midi skirt and chuck in a bit of snake print.

Pink Jumper  ASOS  £25.00
Mustard Jumper  Boohoo @ ASOS  £18.00
Blue Jumper  ASOS  £28.00
Green Jumper  ASOS  £30.00

This time of year one of my favourite colour combinations is camel with washed denim and tan accessories. These more muted, natural tones always end up being a lot more versatile and can easily be dressed down with sports luxe style tracksuit bottoms or casual joggers, check out my pick below.

Ruffle Yoke Jumper  Topshop  £42.00
Frilled Collar Knit  &Other Stories £65.00
Cable Knit High Neck  Glamorous @ ASOS  £45.00
Jumper In Rib with Ruffle Neck  ASOS  £17.50 (was £25.00)
Oversized Frill Jumper  H&M  £49.99
Trousers with Side Band  Zara  £29.99   Luxe Track Pant  ME+EM  £135.00
Frilled Mohair Sweater  Zara  £59.99
Ruffle Knit Jumper  First & I @ ASOS  £20.00
Frill Sweat  Warehouse  £39.00
Flounce Sweater  Zara  £25.99
Ruffle Shoulder Jumper Topshop £36.00

I've been wearing my ruffles with joggers and converses. As a busy mum a perfect outfit for me is dressed down and super comfortable yet has a little something that says 'I did think about this, this morning!'. My jumper is from Tesco; F&F Clothing range and was just £16.00 but I can't find it online so the ones above are a great alternative. My joggers are H&M and are also missing online as far as I can see so try out the options above for a day to day look with your ruffles.

Check out some more style inspo below, in particular the first image which features a Stella McCartney Jumper. I will most definitely be treating myself to the copycat H&M over sized jumper (above) come payday and it also comes in grey, wink wink!

SHEARLING AW16

As the temperatures start to fall what could be better than a chunky coat, with added fur and all the trimmings. Last year it was all about the 'Acne' coat of dreams that quite frankly was way out of most of our price ranges (see below). And sadly there were very few versions available on the high street, this year though we are spoilt for choice.

Velocite Shearling Coat
£1,900.00

The important thing to take note of from the Acne coat when looking for a cheaper alternative is all the little details:
  • Double straps/buckles on the sleeves
  • Zipped up pockets
  • Belt around the waist
  • Chunky zips
  • Inner shearling detail
  • Shearling detail on cuffs
  • Oversized fit
  • Large open collar
It is all these specifics and attention to detail that make it stand out and demand attention.

Faux Fur Collar Biker Jacket
£89.99

Faux Fur Collar Biker Jacket  - as above
Star Print Shirt  FandF Clothing  £16.00  similar here
Jeans  Marks & Spencers  (old)  similar here
Converse  Cloggs  £39.94

So the Zara version isn't an exact copy but it's oh so very close. I fell in love with it after seeing it on many fashion bloggers online and in magazines. Which meant I was more than aware it was selling out fast. So when I found a solitary one left, in my size, in my local Zara my thoughts were; buy now, think later. As you can see the thinking went in the direction of; no way is this one going back! It is such fab quality, and is a perfect fit to wear with t-shirts underneath as well as knitwear - I went for the M. I also love it as it can be dressed up a little with a midi dress/skirt and heeled boots as well as looking perfect with jeans and trainers for everyday wear.

Oversized Biker Jacket  Zara  £79.99
Faux Shearling Biker Jacket  Topshop  £79.00
Suede Aviator Jacket with Faux Shearling  ASOS  £180.00
Faux Shearling Jacket  Mango  £69.99
Suede Bonded Aviator Jacket  Pretty Little Thing  £60.00
Oversized Aviator Jacket  River Island  £85.00

If black doesn't take your fancy follow the links to have a look at what other options are available. I personally prefer the black as I think it is the most versatile.
